Harvest status: bad weather in April and in May. Acceptable conditions until October. Grapes harvested ripe. Overall quality of the vintage: fairly good, but uneven. Supple wines, but sometimes lacking acidity. Often best drunk while young. Red Bordeaux - 1970
Meteorological data: late spring. Good conditions for flowering. Heat and drought in July. Rainy and cool in August, hot at intervals. September started out stormy and cold, then turned sunny and warm until the harvest. Harvest status: Dates: from October 4th. Abundance: large quantity. Quality: very good. The main varieties of managed to ripen simultaneously. Overall quality of the vintage: very good. Wines rich in alcohol, evolving in complex ways. Some disappointments in Médoc, but the overall picture remains remarkable. Many of the great Pomerols and Saint-Emilions are perfect now and will bear further keeping. White Bordeaux - 1970
Harvest status: Quality: ripe grapes, high sugar content. Overall quality of the vintage: good. Wines rich in alcohol, lacking a little acidity. The best have kept well, however. Syrupy Bordeaux - 1970
Meteorological data: Indian summer that encouraged ripening, at the expanse of the formation of noble rot, due to the lack of moisture. Quality: excellent grapes. Overall quality of the vintage: good. Ripe, soft wines but a little dull. Best drunk now. Champagne - 1970
Meteorological data: a cold spring delayed shooting. Late flowering. Heavy rain in June. Good conditions for ripening up to the harvest. Overall quality of the vintage: very good. Severe, fairly corpulent wines with little acidity. The best will have aged well. Red Rhone Valley - 1970
Overall quality of the vintage: very good. Some particularly successful red wines, throughout the valley.

Overall quality of the vintage : very good. Particularly made a success red wines, in all the valley.
White Alsace - 1970
Overall quality of the vintage: very good. Attractive and well-balanced wines.
Loire Wine - 1970
Meteorological data: a fairly dry year. A summer of little sunshine. The sun returns to provide excellent conditions for the harvest. Overall quality of the vintage: very good. Particularly successful among the reds. Fruity wines, with good structure.
