COTE DE BOURG

Known as Little Switzerland for its hillside vineyards, the Côtes de Bourg has been planted with vines since Roman times. This terroir, on the right bank of the Gironde, encompasses fifteen municipalities, all enjoying favourable climatic conditions. The Gironde estuary serves as a thermal buffer, particularly against frost. It was this that saved the vines from the catastrophic frost of 1991. The wines are dense and the terroir very pronounced.
