RASTEAU

The Rasteau vineyards are planted on hillsides throughout the village. Wiped out by phylloxera in 1870, they had to be entirely replanted. In the 1930s, local winegrowers decided to revive the ecclesiastical tradition and focus on producing sweet dessert wines. The appellation also produces highly distinctive dry red wines.
