Syrupy Bordeaux - 1934

Stepping up a notch. A very good year. While the might not reach the heights, they put the heart back into the work.

"A fabulous year," rhapsodises Jean Hugel. "And, once again, it was all thanks to the vines,  because this time, believe me, we were flying by the seats of our pants!" This is unquestionably the most region's finest vintage since the beginning of the century.

Even better than the 1933, the vintage worked particularly well for the sweet wines. The wines in Bué had a strange smell of tar to them: the tarmac surface on the Bellechaume road was laid during the period of flowering of the vineyard, and the smell of it was transferred to the entire harvest.
