Overall quality of the vintage: average. Variable, but with less variation in quality than in the reds: the best are highly concentrated and fresh while others lack acidity. Frost, heatwave, storm, hail: the elements conspired against the winegrowers for this 2012 vintage. The harvest is marked by a very small quantity of grapes but the end of summer saved the crop. For Burgundy, excellent ripening and a healthy harvest. Wines with a beautiful balance that hold up well, a vintage for keeping.
